The Hotel Puente Romano, located on Marbella’s prestigious Golden Mile, is an architectural gem designed by Melvin Villarroel. This luxury resort seamlessly blends Andalusian tradition with modern elegance in a beachfront setting along the Mediterranean Sea. Named after the ancient Roman bridge that crosses the Nagüeles stream, the hotel’s design centers around the concept of “human scale,” with low-rise buildings that follow the natural slope of the land from the road down to the beach, enhancing harmony with its surroundings.

A distinctive feature of the hotel is the thoughtful separation between commercial and residential areas. The Roman bridge itself acts as a symbolic and physical divider, linking the lively square filled with restaurants, shops, and social venues with the serene residential areas that wind through lush gardens to the sea. The commercial plaza is designed as a Roman-style amphitheater, serving as a vibrant social hub not only for the hotel but also for Marbella.

Landscaping is integral to the identity of Puente Romano, featuring 300 meters of tropical gardens, waterfalls, fountains, and palm-lined paths. These green spaces create a continuous natural flow, providing a tranquil atmosphere that defines the hotel’s essence. The architectural vocabulary—whitewashed walls, terracotta tiles, wrought iron, and carved wood—embodies the timeless elegance that has made Puente Romano a landmark of Mediterranean luxury living.
