Melvin Art Villa is a large-scale residential and hospitality development located in Qingdao, China. Spanning 550,000 m² of land and 380,000 m² of built area, the project brings together 1,300 dwellings—including apartments, townhouses, and villas—with a hotel, a commercial center, and extensive recreational and communal facilities.

The design takes advantage of a landscape defined by lakes, gardens, and open-air promenades, using water and vegetation as structuring elements of space. Architecture emerges in dialogue with this natural backdrop, fostering a sense of immersion and tranquility. Buildings are arranged in clusters that prioritize privacy and access to light, while remaining visually connected through shared green corridors and walkable links.

The development is shaped by a deep understanding of proportion and balance. Built structures occupy only a fraction of the available surface, allowing the rest to breathe through gardens, squares, and shaded paths. The absence of rigid divisions between public and private greenery enhances the sense of continuity, while the scale of the architecture—never exceeding the height of the surrounding trees—respects the human dimension and the integrity of the landscape.

Melvin Art Villa offers a model of residential life where architecture does not impose itself, but rather frames space and allows the void to speak. It is a place conceived not just as a collection of buildings, but as a setting for everyday life to unfold in harmony with its surroundings.
