Alcazaba Beach is one of the most iconic residential developments on the Costa del Sol. Located beachfront in Estepona, this project marked a turning point in high-end urban design, establishing a new way of understanding the relationship between architecture, landscape, and quality of life.
The complex includes around 450 multifamily housing units alongside a commercial area, all thoughtfully arranged over more than 75,000 m² of tropical gardens designed as spaces of transition and gathering. The architecture integrates seamlessly with the environment through landscaped pathways, lakes, shaded areas, and organic circulation, creating a serene ecosystem that prioritizes climatic comfort, privacy, and a strong connection to the sea. The low-rise residential volumes are arranged non-hierarchically, allowing vegetation and open space to shape the overall experience.
Awards and Recognition
This project has been repeatedly acknowledged for its architectural and landscape excellence. Notable honors include the Best Residential Development on the Costa del Sol and Best Community Gardens awards, which highlight the exceptional quality and uniqueness of its green spaces. Furthermore, in 2007, it received the Architectural Heritage Award for Environmentally Significant Residential Developments from the Andalusian regional government, an official distinction that underscores the environmental and cultural value of the complex.
